Quebec opens portal for businesses to contact & hire immigration applicants
November 13, 2020
The province of Quebec has expanded its online immigration portal, Arrima, with new features that enable Quebec employers to have direct access to a database of immigration applicants who are abroad or already in Québec, offer them a job and help them with their immigration applications.
Quebec’s Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration, Nadine Girault, stated that on the Quebec employer portal businesses registered in the Registraire des Entreprises Québec (Enterprise Register) will be able to directly contact and recruit immigrants or people from ethnocultural minorities established in Quebec, international students who have graduated from Quebec with a post-graduate work permit, or temporary or permanent workers from abroad.
Le Ministère propose une offre de services aux entreprises pour vous aider à répondre à vos besoins de main-d’œuvre en misant sur le potentiel de personnes immigrantes :
sur le point de s’installer au Québec;
déjà présentes sur le sol québécois.
You may pre-qualify for a Canada immigration program.
Individuals wishing to immigrate to Québec under the Regular Skilled Worker Program must go through the Arrima portal. The Arrima immigration application management system is based on an expression of interest and follows a three-step process:
First, you must complete an expression of interest form online. You will need to enter certain information, such as your education, language skills, and work experience.
The Ministère reviews the bank of expressions of interest and issues invitations to applicants who meet certain criteria, based on labour market needs in the different regions of Québec. Those individuals can submit a permanent selection application (official immigration application) and pay the associated fees.
Businesses interested in the new Quebec employer portal features must first create a profile in Arrima. Once a company is granted access it will be able to conduct independent research, store the results and contact candidates.
