3,350 candidates invited in latest Express Entry draw
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reported that 3,350 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in the latest Express Entry draw held May 1, 2019. The minimum CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score dropped by one point to 450. The minimum score in the previous draw on April 17 was 451.
The latest Express Entry draw was the ninth round of invitations under Express Entry in 2019 and 116th overall. This is also the fourth time that the cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score has decreased since February 20.
IRCC has now issued 31,250 ITAs in 2019 and in pace for the 2019 total target of 81,400. This puts 2019 6,750 ITAs ahead of the number issued at this same point in 2018 when IRCC achieved a new Express Entry ITA record of 89,800 invitations issued in a single year.
The increasing number of Express Entry invitations reflects the rising admissions targets for the three Express Entry programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program the Canada Experience Class and some Provincial Nomination Programs.
